NITROGEN
Most operations use nitrogen without fully leveraging it. Here’s why high-pressure nitrogen is critical across Africa’s key industries, and what happens when the supply isn’t right.

Industrial high-purity nitrogen (99.5%–9.999%) is used precisely because it is inert - it won't react, won't combust, and won't contaminate. The purity level and pressure determine everything about how it performs in your process.

Using compressed air instead of nitrogen for inerting or blanketing introduces oxygen - creating explosion risk in refineries and corrosion in pipelines. Using low-pressure nitrogen for pipeline testing results in inaccurate results and potential rework costs.

Cylinder supply works for intermittent use. For continuous operations - refineries, large-scale food processing, mining - on-site nitrogen generation via a Denair PSA or membrane unit delivers lower long-term cost and eliminates supply chain risk.

Standard cylinders deliver nitrogen at up to 200–300 bar. Many applications - pipeline testing, hyperbaric environments, high-pressure process systems - require 500–1,000 bar or more. A Maximator nitrogen booster bridges that gap without a new generation system.

Frequently asked questions
A nitrogen generator produces nitrogen on-site from compressed air using PSA or membrane technology. This is ideal for continuous, high-volume use. A nitrogen booster takes nitrogen already in a cylinder and increases its pressure to meet your process
requirement. Many operations use both: a generator for volume and a booster for high-pressure applications.
